What's next! If you are reading this then I assume that you want to be part of a community of tuneless wonders and to give up your inhibitions and wrestle with your lack of confidence and willingly make a fool of yourself for the sake of our art. Good, so am I.
I'm not particularly tech savvy but then again I'm not a wilderness 'adventurer' either but I did go hill walking for many years and never got lost. Map, compass and common sense never let me down. Mrs McLennan during covid time continued Zumba classes using ZOOM and it worked very well for them so common sense tells me ....... to install Zoom in my Chromebook and assume that the same procedure or something similar would apply to other devices.

Download and install the ZOOM app for your device from www. ZOOM.com
Follow the instructions to sign in or register for the free basic package.
Activate video and sound.
Click 'Join Meeting.
Enter the meeting code that I previously gave you.
The session begins at the agreed time.
Nearly there and anticipating our first Zoom jamming session, reeds moistened, silver and wood polished and large print score on our stand. Well not quite, there is a couple of things to consider first.
In the home page my mantra was and is ... Mannofield Music Club, no fees, no rules and no competition and that is how I want to keep it but Zoom do have limitations on free use of the service which is fair enough.
Each session can only last for forty minutes after which Zoom cuts it off but I believe there is no restriction on starting a new session immediately so I would suggest that forty minute sessions are probably long enough but if longer is required then a Zoom meeting in two parts with a coffee/toilet/break in between. Part one for general hello's, discussion and initial play through of the chosen piece and part two when we play together, discuss our efforts and say our goodbye's until next time.
